Contacted by “Hawaiian Dave” I was asked if I would like to take a “Superman-Batman” sketch that Dave had acquired from Kelley Jones and do a blue line inking job on it.

How could I not? I had worked with Kelley on Batman for 5 years, along with writer Doug Moench.

Last Saturday, my comp copies of “Back Issue #49″ with the Deathlok cover I inked arrived in the mail.

It’s always fun to get copies of your work to see how it printed.

I really like the way this cover turned out, altho a bit copy heavy, I suppose all that information is needed?

THE PUNISHER: case study

Assignment: Tighten pencils and ink the Mike Zeck “Punisher” Prelim drawing below.

This was a lot harder than I thot it would be…

When I drew over Zeck’s rough, the work began to look more like “mine” which would have been fine, had Adam wanted a “John Beatty” Punisher!
